Pedal 2 Would be for an external expression pedal, if you had one. You can also assign a MIDI command to the toe switch that it will send in addition to switching between Pedal Wah & Pedal Volume. The Pedal Wah and Pedal Volume are both the same physical pedal, and Toe Switch is the toe switch that switches it between the two. I uploaded a screenshot of the FBV3 settings if that gives you a better idea of what you can do. I had a chance to try this out tonight, and I couldn't get it to work exactly the way you described. Let me know if you have any questions I can answer about it and I'll do my best. If you just want a pedal with lots of buttons you can assign to whatever you want, it's solid. I think if you care a lot about the lights, maybe look for something else. Using CC toggle mode solves that problem, but then you don't get lights. In MIDI CC absolute mode, you can make the switch light stay on while an effect is active, but it gets wonky sometimes if you change presets.
The lights don't do a whole lot in general.I haven't been able to change the color of the switch lights.I guess so you could use it as a volume, put the volume at 100% with the pedal, and then switch it to wah mode or something. there's a button at the top of the pedal that switches the pedal itself between two different MIDI CC's. With the Neural DSP plugins, you can assign specific presets to whatever switches you want, and you can assign switches to move up/down through the preset list.

The software it uses is Line 6 FBV Control, and it's easy enough to program.
